The Faculty

The faculty of the Middle East Center consists of members of a number of departments of the University whose specializations fall within the field of Middle East studies. As a result, the study of the Middle East carried on under the auspices of the Center has a decidedly interdisciplinary character, spanning such disciplines as history, political science, economics, anthropology, geography, literature, linguistics, and language pedagogy. All members of the Center faculty are accomplished scholars in their respective fields and are active in research and publication as well as in teaching and student supervision. Language teaching in the Center is proficiency-based, and several faculty members involved in language teaching are ACTFL certified.
