Egypt: Jewel of the Nile International Seminar
A truly unique seminar for educators and interested others.

This year the International Seminar will focus on the country of Egypt---a country of great historical significance and rich in ancient and modern culture. Egypt is home to the Pharaohs, the Nile River and to notable individuals such as Umm Kulthum, Naguib Mahfouz, Omar Sharif, and Boutros Boutros-Ghali.

Our outreach activities reflect the diverse nature of the region and embrace a wide array of faiths, languages, civilizations, countries, and issues in the Middle East.  MEC outreach to K-12 schools, higher education institutions, business, media, and the general public includes public programs and cultural events; the MEC Outreach Resource Room; referral of speakers on Middle East topics; programs and services for K-12 schools, teachers, and students; and networking and collaboration with other educational institutions and organizations.
